My MA thesis project this past year analyzed the English translation of Roberto Bolaño’s 2666. I really enjoyed taking courses that revealed to me that translation has been a topic of study all to itself, since the Greeks and the Romans began discussing its merits and defects. So that you may better understand my translations, I will briefly explain where my theory on translation lies. While Octavio Paz and Ezra Pound were concerned with poetry, I found their school of thought, that each work of translation is a new and unique work, resonated with me for all genres. Though I am translating myself in this blog, I do not always opt for a word for word translation.
The reader must also keep in mind that I am not a native speaker of Spanish. There will undoubtedly be errors in my Spanish, which I hope you will forgive as my eagerness to share my thoughts with a wider audience, rather than limit it for fear of imperfection in my language skills.

Mi proyecto de tesis este año pasado analizó la traducción en ingles de 2666 por Roberto Bolaño. Disfruté cursos que mostró que el tema de la traducción ha sido estudiado desde los griegos y romanos. Para que puede mejor entender mis traducciones, explicaré brevemente mi teoría de traducción (basado en mis estudios). Mientras Octavio Paz y Ezra Pound enfocaron sus teorías en poesía, creo que sus pensamientos, que cada traducción es una obra nueva y único, puede ser aplicado a cualquier género. Aunque traduzco mi propio blog, no hago siempre una traducción palabra por palabra.
El lector también debe entender que no soy un hablante nativo. Indudablemente habrá errores en mi español, que espero perdonará como mi entusiasmo para compartir mis pensamientos con una audiencia más grande, en lugar de limitarlo por miedo de imperfección en mis habilidades lingüísticas.
